Installing a new clutch is an exercise in frustration, mainly because you have to manhandle a giant transmission underneath your car. The last thing you want to do is have to start all over because the clutch plate slipped out of alignment and won't engage with the input shaft. Save yourself some time and effort and use a clutch alignment tool to make sure this does not happen to you. The tools are very simple, made from injection moulded plastic or nylon, you need the tool that matches your transmission. This is a matter of knowing the spline count on the input shaft. If the splines don't line up, it won't work. Do not try to fudge it with a tool that does not fully engage the spines. If your clutch alignment tool does not fit the pilot bearing/bushing, it is the wrong one, you need to get the correct one. On the back of the engine, the flywheel bolts to the crank. Inside the crank is a recess for the bearing. The tip of the clutch alignment tool locks into the bearing, keeping your clutch in place. First, insert the tool into the clutch plate. Make sure the clutch is facing the correct direction. The tool should stick all the way through the spines on the plate. Then place the clutch on the flywheel, and engage the alignment tool into the pilot bushing or bearing in the centre of the crankshaft. Push the clutch tight to the flywheel. The tool goes into the clutch plate, and then the tool is installed into the bearing on the flywheel. It should not move around at all. With the clutch on the flywheel, install the pressure plate to the flywheel and start the bolts. Wiggle the alignment tool to make sure it is fully engaged and seated in the pilot bushing/bearing. Tighten the pressure plate bolts in a criss-cross pattern and then torque to spec. The clutch alignment tool stays in the clutch until you are ready to install the transmission. While the pressure place should hold the clutch from moving, don't take the risk of pulling the tool out too soon. Once the transmission is ready to install, pop the tool out, and slide the transmission into place. Every application has a different clutch tool. These three tools look similar, and may even mesh together, but they are all different.Features and SpecificationsClutch Industries (CI) Clutch Alignment ToolMandatory use on Clutch InstallsEnsure optimum clutch life and performanceDual Mass Flywheel: Not IncludedConcentric Slave Cylinder: Not IncludedFitment:Mitsubishi Canter 2.8 Ltr, 4M40-0A FB501, 1/93-3/01 1993-2001Mitsubishi Canter 2.8 Ltr, 4M40-0A FB511, 1/93-3/01 1993-2001Mitsubishi Canter 2.6 Ltr Petrol, 4G54 FC212E, 2/81-4/86 1981-1986Mitsubishi Canter 2.6 Ltr Petrol, 4G54 FC432E, 2/81-4/86 1981-1986Mitsubishi Canter 3.3 Ltr, 4D31T Cab Chassis, FE090, 1/92-12/96 1992-1996Mitsubishi Canter 3.3 Ltr, 4D31T Cab Chassis, FE091, 1/94-12/97 1994-1997Mitsubishi Canter 3.3 Ltr, 4D31 Cab Chassis, FE110, 1/92-12/96 1992-1996Mitsubishi Canter 3.6 Ltr, 4D32 Cab Chassis, FE111, 1/95-12/97 1995-1997Mitsubishi Canter 3.6 Ltr, 4D32 Cab Chassis, FE112, 1/96-12/99 1996-1999Mitsubishi Canter 3.9 Ltr, 4D34 Cab Chassis, FE120, 1/92-12/96 1992-1996Mitsubishi Canter 3.3 Ltr, 4D30 FE211C, 9/82-10/85 1982-1985Mitsubishi Canter 3.3 Ltr, 4D31 FE214E, 3/82-3/86 1982-1986Mitsubishi Canter 3.6 Ltr, 4D32 FE305, 1/85-12/93 1985-1993Mitsubishi Canter 3.6 Ltr, 4D32 Cab Chassis, FE315, 1/86-12/94 1986-1994Mitsubishi Canter 3.6 Ltr, 4D32 Cab Chassis, FE325, 1/86-12/94 1986-1994Mitsubishi Canter 3.3 Ltr TDI, 4D31T FE334, 1/85- 1985Mitsubishi Canter 3.3 Ltr, 4D31 Cab Chassis, FE334, 1/86-12/92 1986-1992Mitsubishi Canter 3.6 Ltr, 4D32 Cab Chassis, FE335, 1/86-12/94 1986-1994Mitsubishi Canter 3.9 Ltr, 4D34 FE339, 1/85- 1985Mitsubishi Canter 3.6 Ltr, 4D32 Cab Chassis, FE425, 1/85-12/93 1985-1993Mitsubishi Canter 3.3 Ltr TDI, 4D31T FE434, 1/86-6/91 1986-1991Mitsubishi Canter 3.9 Ltr, 4D34 FE434, 1/85-12/86 1985-1986Mitsubishi Canter 3.3 Ltr, 4D31 FE434, 1/86-6/91 1986-1991Mitsubishi Canter 3.3 Ltr, 4D31 FE434C, 1/82-12/86 1982-1986Mitsubishi Canter 3.9 Ltr, 4D34 FE435, 1/85-12/86 1985-1986Mitsubishi Canter 3.9 Ltr, 4D34 FE439, 1/85-12/86 1985-1986Mitsubishi Canter 3.3 Ltr, 4D31 FE444, 4/86-6/91 1986-1991Mitsubishi Canter 3.3 Ltr TDI, 4D31T FE444, 1/86-6/91 1986-1991Mitsubishi Canter 3.6 Ltr, 4D32 Cab Chassis, FE445, 1/85-12/93 1985-1993Mitsubishi Canter 3.9 Ltr, 4D34 FE449, 1/85-, 2WD & 4WD 1985Mitsubishi Canter 3.0 Ltr TDI, 4M42T FE534, 1/02-12/05 2002-2005Mitsubishi Canter 3.6 Ltr, 4D32 Cab Chassis, FE635, 1/03-12/07 2003-2007Mitsubishi Canter 3.6 Ltr, 4D32 FG335, 1/86-12/91 1986-1991Mitsubishi Canter 3.9 Ltr, 4D34 FG434, 1/85-12/86, 2WD & 4WD 1985-1986Mitsubishi Canter 3.9 Ltr, 4D34 FG435, 1/85-12/86, 2WD & 4WD 1985-1986Mitsubishi Canter 3.9 Ltr, 4D34 FG439, 1/85-12/86, 2WD & 4WD 1985-1986Mitsubishi Challenger 3.0 Ltr, V6 6G72, 136kw PA, 3/98-7/00 1998-2000Mitsubishi L300 3.0 Ltr, V6 6G72, 97kw WA, 9/94-8/05 1994-2005Mitsubishi Pajero 3.0 Ltr V6, 6G72, 105kw NF, 5 Speed, 9/88-8/89 1988-1989Mitsubishi Pajero 3.0 Ltr V6, 6G72 NG, 5 Speed, 10/89-5/91 1989-1991Mitsubishi Pajero 3.0 Ltr V6, 6G72 NH, 5 Speed, 6/91-10/93 1991-1993Mitsubishi Pajero 3.0 Ltr V6, 6G72 NJ, 5 Speed, 11/93-10/96 1993-1996Mitsubishi Pajero 3.0 Ltr V6, 6G72 NK, 11/96-10/97 1996-1997Mitsubishi Starwagon 3.0 Ltr, V6 6G72, 97kw WA, 9/94-8/05 1994-2005Mitsubishi Triton 3.0 Ltr V6, 6G72 MH, 9/90-8/91 1990-1991Mitsubishi Triton 3.0 Ltr V6, 6G72 MJ, 8/91-10/96 1991-1996Mitsubishi Triton 3.0 Ltr 24V, V6 6G72, 133kw MK, 5 Speed, 8/97-5/00, 4WD 1997-2000Mitsubishi Triton 3.0 Ltr V6, 6G72, 133kw MK, 5 Speed, 3/96-12/97, 4WD 1996-1997Mitsubishi Triton 3.0 Ltr 24V, V6 6G72, 133kw MK, 5 Speed, 6/00-8/06, 4WD 2000-2006
