Installing a new clutch is an exercise in frustration, mainly because you have to manhandle a giant transmission underneath your car. The last thing you want to do is have to start all over because the clutch plate slipped out of alignment and won't engage with the input shaft. Save yourself some time and effort and use a clutch alignment tool to make sure this does not happen to you. The tools are very simple, made from injection moulded plastic or nylon, you need the tool that matches your transmission. This is a matter of knowing the spline count on the input shaft. If the splines don't line up, it won't work. Do not try to fudge it with a tool that does not fully engage the spines. If your clutch alignment tool does not fit the pilot bearing/bushing, it is the wrong one, you need to get the correct one. On the back of the engine, the flywheel bolts to the crank. Inside the crank is a recess for the bearing. The tip of the clutch alignment tool locks into the bearing, keeping your clutch in place. First, insert the tool into the clutch plate. Make sure the clutch is facing the correct direction. The tool should stick all the way through the spines on the plate. Then place the clutch on the flywheel, and engage the alignment tool into the pilot bushing or bearing in the centre of the crankshaft. Push the clutch tight to the flywheel. The tool goes into the clutch plate, and then the tool is installed into the bearing on the flywheel. It should not move around at all. With the clutch on the flywheel, install the pressure plate to the flywheel and start the bolts. Wiggle the alignment tool to make sure it is fully engaged and seated in the pilot bushing/bearing. Tighten the pressure plate bolts in a criss-cross pattern and then torque to spec. The clutch alignment tool stays in the clutch until you are ready to install the transmission. While the pressure place should hold the clutch from moving, don't take the risk of pulling the tool out too soon. Once the transmission is ready to install, pop the tool out, and slide the transmission into place. Every application has a different clutch tool. These three tools look similar, and may even mesh together, but they are all different.Features and SpecificationsClutch Industries (CI) Clutch Alignment ToolMandatory use on Clutch InstallsEnsure optimum clutch life and performanceDual Mass Flywheel: Not IncludedConcentric Slave Cylinder: Not IncludedFitment:Honda Accord 2.2 Ltr, F22A3 CB, 11/89-12/93 1989-1993Honda Accord 2.0 Ltr, G20A CB, 11/89-12/93 1989-1993Honda Accord 2.0 Ltr, F20A CB, 11/89-12/93 1989-1993Honda Accord 2.2 Ltr 16V SOHC, VTEC CC, 1/94-12/97 1994-1997Honda Accord 2.2 Ltr 16V SOHC, F22A CC (Exi), 1/94-12/97 1994-1997Honda Accord 2.2 Ltr 16V SOHC, VTEC CC (Vti), 1/94-12/97 1994-1997Honda Accord 2.2 Ltr, F22B CD, 1/95-12/97, 254mm Bolt PCD 1995-1997Honda Accord 2.3 Ltr 16V VTEC, F23A1 CE, 1/99-5/02 1999-2002Honda Accord 2.3 Ltr, F23A CF8, 12/97-12/99 1997-1999Honda Accord 2.3 Ltr, F23A CG5, 1/98-5/02 1998-2002Honda Accord 2.3 Ltr, F23Z2 CK2, 1/98-12/03, 254mm Bolt PCD 1998-2003Honda Accord 2.0 Ltr, K20A CL7, 1/01-12/06, New Zealand Model 2001-2006Honda Accord 2.4 Ltr 16V VTEC, K24A3, 140kw Euro, 6 Speed, 6/03-5/08 2003-2008Honda Civic 1.6 Ltr DOHC, B16A2 EK, 3/99-10/00, 247mm Bolt PCD 1999-2000Honda Civic 1.8 Ltr DOHC, 616A2, 118kw EK VTi-R, 1/99-10/00, 247mm Bolt PCD 1999-2000Honda Civic 2.0 Ltr MPFI, K20A2, 148kw EP3 Type R, 6 Speed, 7/01-9/05 2001-2005Honda Civic 2.0 Ltr EFI, K20Z4 FN Type R, 6 Speed, 1/07-12/10 2007-2010Honda CRV 2.0 Ltr, B20Z1 RD1, 11/97-2/02, 247mm Bolt PCD 1997-2002Honda CRV 2.0 Ltr, B20Z3 RD1, 11/97-2/02, 247mm Bolt PCD 1997-2002Honda CRV 2.0 Ltr, B20B3 RD1, 11/97-2/02, 247mm Bolt PCD 1997-2002Honda CRX 1.6 Ltr DOHC, B16A2 VTEC EG, 6/92-12/94, 247mm Bolt PCD 1992-1994Honda Integra 1.8 Ltr DOHC EFI, B18A, 103kw DA9, 1/92-7/93, 247mm Bolt PCD 1992-1993Honda Integra 1.8 Ltr DOHC EFI, B18C, 125kw DB8, 7/93-10/99, 247mm Bolt PCD 1993-1999Honda Integra 1.8 Ltr VTEC, C18C DC2, 4/90-11/93 1990-1993Honda Integra 1.8 Ltr VTEC, C18C DC2, 12/93-10/99, 247mm Bolt PCD 1993-1999Honda Integra 2.0 Ltr VTEC, K20A, 118kw DC5, 5 Speed, 8/01-4/07 2001-2007Honda Integra 2.0 Ltr VTEC, K20A, 147kw DC5 Type-R, 6 Speed, 8/01-9/04 2001-2004Honda Integra 1.8 Ltr DOHC, B18C7 Type R, 10/99-8/01, 247mm Bolt PCD 1999-2001Honda Orthia 1.8 Ltr, B18B, 104kw EL2, 2/96-5/99, New Zealand Only 1996-1999Honda Orthia 2.0 Ltr, B20B, 111kw EL2, 2/96-1/02, 247mm Bolt PCD New Zealand Model Only 1996-2002Honda Prelude 2.2 Ltr, F22A BA8-100, 12/91-12/94, 254mm Bolt PCD 1991-1994Honda Prelude 2.2 Ltr, F22A BA8-110, 12/91-12/94, 254mm Bolt PCD 1991-1994Honda Prelude 2.2 Ltr, F22A BA9-100, 12/91-12/94, 254mm Bolt PCD 1991-1994Honda Prelude 2.2 Ltr, F22A BA9-110, 12/91-12/94, 254mm Bolt PCD 1991-1994Honda Prelude 2.3 Ltr DOHC, H23A BB, 12/91-12/94, 254mm Bolt PCD 1991-1994Honda Prelude 2.2 Ltr 16V SOHC, F22A S, 1/94-12/96, 254mm Bolt PCD 1994-1996Honda Prelude 2.3 Ltr 16V DOHC, H23A SI, 1/94-12/96, 254mm Bolt PCD 1994-1996Honda Prelude 2.2 Ltr 16V DOHC, H22A VTEC, 142kw VTI-R, 1/94-2/97, 254mm Bolt PCD 1994-1997Honda Integra 1.8 Ltr, B18B DC4, 1/99-12/01, 247mm Bolt PCD 1999-2001
