Important Lifter Preparation Notes:
Please thoroughly clean the lifters in mineral spirits or similar solvent and inspect for any damage in transport. It is a good idea to soak the lifters in engine oil prior to assembly and check that the plunger moves freely if you are using hydraulic type lifters. Often hydraulic type lifters are already filled with oil from the factory but you should still be able to get a small amount of movement from the plunger by using a pushrod and pressing firmly on the seat. Be careful not to damage the cam side of the lifter. Plunger should return to initial position when force is released. Flat tappet lifters should be free to rotate in the lifter bores. Ensure correct preload is used when fitting lifters. If unsure please feel free to contact us.
